Orientation:
Before You Use the Canvas™

You’ve received the Redemptive Business Canvas.

Before you start using it, we recommend one simple step:
take 15 minutes to understand how this Canvas is meant to be used.

This will help you get more out of it, and avoid treating it like another worksheet.

An introduction to the Redemptive Business Canvas
with Philip Yan & Hannah Lau

This short video explains:

  • why the Canvas exists

  • how it differs from other business canvases

  • how Christian builders are meant to approach it

You don’t need to agree with everything or take notes.
The goal is simply to orient how you see before you decide how to act.

How to use the Canvas well

A few reminders before you start:

  • This is a thinking tool, not an evaluation

  • There are no right answers

  • Move slowly enough to notice what matters

  • Expect to return to the Canvas more than once

The goal is not completion.
The goal is clarity.

When the Canvas isn’t enough on its own

For some builders, the Canvas brings immediate clarity.
For others, it surfaces deeper questions—about direction, responsibility, or trade-offs that are difficult to navigate alone.

If you find yourself wanting:

  • conversation, not just reflection

  • guidance as faith meets real decisions

  • structure to move from clarity to action

you may benefit from walking this journey with others or with a guide.

You can explore those options here, if and when it’s helpful:
