How to use the Redemptive Business Canvas
A short orientation before you begin.

Before you start

The Redemptive Business Canvas™ is not something you need to complete perfectly or all at once.

It’s designed to help you think clearly before decisions accelerate — not to force conclusions or lock you into a plan.

There are no right answers.
There’s no expectation to fill every section.

How to approach the Canvas

As you work with the Canvas, keep a few things in mind:

  • Start with the areas where you already have some clarity

  • Write lightly, knowing your thinking will evolve

  • Return to the Canvas over time as your context changes

Many builders find it helpful to pause when they notice tension or uncertainty.
That’s often where the most important questions begin to surface.

Clarity doesn’t always emerge alone.
For some, it deepens through conversation — by working alongside others, hearing different perspectives, and being asked thoughtful, sometimes challenging questions.

The goal isn’t speed or completion.
It’s clarity about what deserves your attention now.

Using this as a guide

You may choose to work through the Canvas:

  • on your own, as a reflective exercise

  • with a partner, team, or advisor

  • over multiple sessions, rather than all at once

All of these are valid.

The Canvas is meant to support discernment, not pressure. This User Instructions PDF offers practical guidance on how to work with the Canvas, pacing, posture, and common pitfalls to avoid.

Common questions

Do I need to complete the entire Canvas?

1

No. Many people start with a few sections and return to others later.

What if I don’t have clear answers yet?

2

That’s expected. The Canvas is designed to surface questions, not force conclusions.

Is there a “right” way to use this?

3

No. Use it in a way that supports clarity and wise decision-making in your context.

Should I use this alone or with others?

4

Both work. Some begin on their own; others involve partners, teams, or advisors.
